New Life Fellowship, Queens- New York City

Challenge

The senior pastor, Pete Scazzero was looking for someone to facilitate his team through a number of strategic conversations. New Life was entering it’s twenty-fifth year of ministry and Pete was sensing that it was time to hand the church over to a younger group of ministry leaders.

Enter Buck Rogers

My initial engagement with the ministry staff began with a two day strategic planning retreat. This was followed up with quarterly on-site visits for implementation coaching and was supplemented with a number of phone coaching relationships.

Solutions in Action

Pete and I constructed a 36 month succession pathway that positioned the church to effectively navigate the handing of senior leadership to Rich Villodas in the fall of 2013. In addition, I have assisted the church in a number of capacities including leadership coaching, ministry model formation, goal setting and execution, and staff hiring. I currently blend monthly phone coaching appointments with on-site consultations that last two and a half days.

Results

A third service is now a reality on Sunday morning. The church is experiencing growth on a number of fronts. The transfer of leadership has gone extremely well and the Scazzeros are being released by the church into what has become a world-wide calling to advance Emotionally Healthy Spirituality. Funds are pouring in for beautiful renovation work in their historic building in downtown Queens.

Customer Testimonial

I highly recommend Buck Rogers to you. Buck has been a wonderful gift to New Life Fellowship Church over the last 4 years, providing excellent consultant leadership in everything from vision clarity, leadership coaching, strategic planning, and resolving conflicts. And now, as we move through my succession to the next generation of leadership, he is serving them equally as well!
